When buying new from a trusted dealer, there are no questions. You know what you are paying or, and, in our case, we make a guarantee. Once you decide to go to a used dealer all bets are off and it’s up to YOU to ensure you are getting an honest deal.
Here’s three tips to help you navigate the muddy waters of buying used:
1. Ensure your dealer has a good reputation. Chances are if they’ve been ripping people off you will be able to find something about it on the internet. That being said, even online reviews can be skewed and it’s your general feeling of trust with the person that will aide your decision
2. If the watch doesn’t come with all original paperwork, the box, and receipt, don’t buy it. If someone owns a true luxury brand, such as a Longines watch, they will keep their paperwork – thus being able to show you upon resale.
Now, while we recommend sticking to buying new, some people love seeking out antique luxury items. Good luck on your endeavors!
